The second volume in the series, Secular Sculptures, focuses on the open-air sculptures of the Humanist Sculpture Park on the VUB campus.
Since 1980, the featured artists have resonated not only as influential figures in Belgian art, but also as true free thinkers.
The humanist message that thematically connects the sculptures is no coincidence—on the contrary, it was the explicit reason for acquiring and placing these works on campus. In short, the collection serves both as a visual reminder of the VUB’s philosophy and as a means of questioning it.
